Autofill job applications in one click
The job.fail extension for Chrome fills in application forms on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and most other career pages, and drafts the cover letter from the job posting. You still press submit.
What's the best Chrome extension to autofill job applications?
job.fail is a Chrome extension that fills in job application forms in one click and drafts a cover letter from the job posting. Its Auto-Fill is free, knows the forms of Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Personio, Workable, Recruitee, Breezy HR and Teamtailor, and fills whatever it recognises on any other career page. Whether it's the best is your call. It's the one we'd pick.
Which job sites does job.fail fill in?
job.fail knows the application forms of Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Personio, Workable, Recruitee, Breezy HR and Teamtailor, and fills them field by field. On every other career page it reads the form the way you would, just faster, and fills the fields it recognises. It runs in Chrome 116 or newer.
What does it fill in, and what does it leave to you?
job.fail fills in your name, contact details, links, résumé file, current company and title, education, and any custom field you add for the questions every company asks. It leaves fields you already filled untouched, answers gender, ethnicity, veteran and disability questions only from what you entered in your profile, and never presses submit. That part is on you.
Is job.fail free?
Filling in forms is free, and so are the job board, the CV editor with its templates and PDF export, and the core skills of any job posting. Drafting cover letters and CVs runs on job.fail tokens: sign in with Google or LinkedIn and you get 1M tokens free, enough for about 300 cover letters or 5 CVs. After that, 5M tokens a month cost €5.99.
Where does my data go?
Signed in, your name, contact details, links and languages sync with your job.fail account; your other Auto-Fill fields and your résumé stay in the extension on your device. When you draft, the job posting, your name and your history go through job.fail's server to AI models that keep nothing. The Transparency page names every model and where it runs.
