job.fail tokens

When you draft a cover letter, a CV or an improvement with job.fail tokens, the extension or the website sends the draft's texts to our server. It passes them to OpenRouter, which runs the AI models: Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet 5.5 and Claude Haiku 5.5 for a CV, and GPT-6 Luna on Microsoft Azure in the EU for a cover letter or an improvement.

What we send

  • For a cover letter, the job posting's title, company, web address and description. For a CV, its title, company, core skills and the key phrases read from it.
  • For a cover letter, your name.
  • Your job history, and for a cover letter your education history.
  • For a CV, the core skills you picked, your notes on them, and what your bullets say you did.
  • For an improvement, the job, its scores, your answers, and the companies, titles and dates of your other jobs.

Never your email address, your other contact details or your account. Our server writes them into your CV’s header itself.

OpenRouter

OpenRouter forwards the request to the model and the answer back to us. We turned off its prompt logging, and we allow only providers that keep nothing once they have answered and never train on what they are sent (zero data retention). For Claude and for scoring, those providers may run outside the EU.

Claude

Claude Sonnet 5.5 writes your CV, and Claude Haiku 5.5 reads job postings and your jobs. OpenRouter sends them only to providers with zero data retention, which keep nothing once they have answered and never train on what they are sent.

Microsoft Azure

Microsoft Azure runs GPT-6 Luna, for cover letters and improvements, in data centers in the EU. It keeps nothing once it has answered and never trains on what it is sent.

Your jobs

When you save a job to your job.fail account, our server sends each of its new bullets on its own to Claude Haiku 5.5, which reads what you did, how, and with what result. We keep that with the bullet, so every CV is written from your own words. It uses no tokens.

Core skills

When you read the core skills of a job, its posting takes the same way to Claude Haiku 5.5: its title, company and description, and nothing about you. Core skills use no tokens.

Recruitability and tips

Every job you add to your history or change, signed in or not, goes through our server and OpenRouter to Jev, TypeSafe’s scoring model, which scores it against common recruiting criteria: its company, title, dates and description, plus your other jobs without their descriptions. When you ask for tips in the CV editor, your whole CV goes the same way, and while a CV is written, Jev rates each job’s bullets and the whole CV, so the weak parts are written again. Scoring uses no tokens.

Jev also tags each job in your job.fail account with its field and skills, from its company, title and description, so the job board can suggest jobs for you. When you open a saved job, Jev rates how well it fits you, from the job’s title, core skills and key phrases and your whole job history. We keep the tags with the job and the rating with the saved job.

Emails

Lettermint sends job.fail’s emails: your job alert, the product updates you agreed to, and the emails about your account and purchases. We give it your email address, each email’s content and your account’s ID. Lettermint B.V. is based in the Netherlands and handles them in the EU.
